The Mount St John Dressage Future Elite Championship was decided in the Andrews Bowen International Arena at Horse of the Year Show.
Seven combinations came forward to contest the prestigious title in front of three acclaimed international judges.
The judges for this year’s competition were FEI Dressage Judge General, Olympic judge and International renowned trainer Stephen Clarke, International Judge and successful trainer Peter Storr and FEI 5* judge and trainer Francis Verbeek.
The atmosphere was electric as the audience watched Becky Moody riding Carinsio steal the win with an impressive score of 77.71%.
Moody was delighted with her win saying: “There is just a fantastic atmosphere in there so it is great. It’s just been a wonderful experience he is quite a young horse and to get him into an arena like this is fantastic for the future.
“Really, really grateful to Mount St John for this because it is important for our future top horses. Dressage in Britain is just getting bigger and bigger and there are just so many fantastic combinations”
Each combination performed an Intermediate I Freestyle to music which left the audience spellbound as horse and rider danced into the arena.
Matt Frost came a commendable second place riding AMD Don Rosso II with a score 75.375%.
This is the third year The Mount St John Future Elite Championship has taken place a HOYS and the class has quickly become a crowd favourite with large numbers gathering to watch the horses and riders battle it out for the coveted title.
