Found a new home, now to find a new horse!

Thursday 25 June 2009

I've finally managed to leave the bright lights of London behind for a commuter's life in the country.

Despite the allures of fresh air, friendly village life, and two – yes two – greenhouses to fulfil my dreams of growing organic veg, there was one very important factor behind my decision to relocate – to get back into the saddle.

Although living in London was great fun, the concrete jungle wasn't exactly conducive to equestrian life.

Now I have made the move, however, another problem has presented itself – finding a nice horse to ride.

The goal of buying my own horse is still a few years away, so I'm looking for a horse to share locally.

I've been looking for a few weeks now, but am yet to find my perfect equine partner.

I'd like to think I'm not being overly fussy – all I want is a horse that's between 15.2hh to 16.2hh, able to work in an outline and pop over a small fence.

Preferably, not one that's about about to take out an equine bus pass, or a horse with more issues than Kerry Katona.

Oh and the opportunity to compete occasionally would be nice!

In return, I can offer over two decades of experience, am willing to muck in and muck out (and make a reasonable financial contribution too).

And if the greenhouse plans work out, I may even be able to offer a supply of home-grown carrots
