Calling all ‘A Knight’s Tale’ fans, if you are looking for something thrilling to do this month why not head over to Arundel Castle in West Sussex for a real jousting tournament.

The week-long event is being held from the 23rd to the 28th of July in the picturesque grounds of one of the largest complete castles in England.

Professional opponents from all over Europe are coming to compete for the Championship of Arundel Castle.

Bryan McDonald the castle manager said,  “Not only is this one of the most prestigious tournaments on the international stage but the six day affair provides thrilling displays of authentic, highly skilled combat, bringing the splendour and drama of 15th Century Britain to life.”

As well as watching the exhilarating action of a live joust, visitors will also have the opportunity to try their hand at archery, hear period music from Rough Musicke, be enthralled by Distant Trumpets story tellers and enjoy a host of other crafts and displays within a highly authentic encampment at Arundel Castle.
 

To enhance the experience all jousters wear proper plate armour true to the era, with repairs and adjustments made in real time at the sites encampment during the event.

It will be a fantastic event suitable for all ages, with a chance to explore a beautiful castle and grounds as well as learning about medieval history.
