Welcome to Horse magazine's website. In these pages, we aim to give you a real flavour of the content of Horse, and show how the magazine can help you get more out of your time with your horse – whether you ride as a hobby or are a keen competitor looking for expert tips on how to move up to the next level.

I'd welcome your feedback, so please write or e-mail me joanna.browne@mytimemedia.com to tell me what you think.

Horse magazine had a makeover at the end of 2011, and it looks better than ever before! There's loads of great series and features – as well as a fresh new look for some of our great regular pages.

Jo Browne, Editor

Jo has been riding all her life, and has owned 15.3hh, 20-year-old part-Thoroughbred mare Bella for 11 years. Due to working in London and being the mum of two young girls, Jo keeps Bella at grass livery, hacking out at weekends and enjoying the odd local show. Jo has worked on Horse magazine for a total of 11 years.

Laura Marshall, Art Editor
Laura joined Horse at the end of 2011, and has brought a fabulous, fresh look to the magazine. After plenty of nagging on her part, Laura's Dad eventually relented and took her to the local riding school, from which point she was totally hooked on both horses and riding. She spent much of her childhood up at the stables, helping out wherever possible in the hope of a free ride. Now, she enjoys a hack on a sunny day and takes the opportunity to ride in different places around the world whenever she is on holiday. Her highlight was riding across the Atacama Desert in South America. Laura says: “Since joining Horse, it's been great to work on a magazine I have a real interest in – especially after seven years on football magazines!”

Tessa Smyth, Writer and Products Editor
Tessa grew up on a farm and has ridden for as long as she can remember. She has competed in every discipline – but particularly enjoys eventing – is a regular on the hunting field and an avid race goer. Her lack of horsey parentage didn't limit her determination to ride as much as she could — regularly missing out on family holidays to ride or go to Pony Club (whenever she could get a lift)! She went to university in Edinburgh, but kept up her riding (and her sanity) by being a work rider at a National Hunt yard. She worked in sales and marketing at a racecourse before landing her ideal job at Horse magazine.
